The restaurant is named as 'Chengdu' since the owner and the chef is from Chengdu and they want to bring the gorgeous culture from Chengdu to Finland. Chengdu, is the provincial capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China, as well as a major city in Western China.
The fertile Chengdu Plain, on which Chengdu is located, is also known as the "Country of Heaven" (Chinese: 天府之国; pinyin: Tiānfǔzhiguó), a phrase also often translated as "The Land of Abundance".
You can find lovely pandas in our restaurant. The giant panda, a Chinese national treasure, is one of the rarest animals in the world. The total number is estimated to be 1,500, including those living in the wild, 80 percent of which are in Sichuan Province.
